Supplier Code of Conduct

Introduction

Plastic Ingenuity’s (PI) mission is to deliver quality products and services to our customers that will exceed their expectations and anticipate their needs. In doing so, all team members and PI’s suppliers will provide a safe working environment, fair compensation and will be ever mindful of the natural environment along the way. Plastic Ingenuity is committed to conducting business in an ethical, legal, and socially responsible manner and we expect that our suppliers are aligned to this as well. Plastic Ingenuity requests that all suppliers respect and adhere to the code of conduct and that this information is communicated to all employees, agents, suppliers, and sub-contractors when conducting business. Together we will do our part to ensure compliance with the standards that have been set.

Labor conditions and human rights

  • Compensation (Wages and Benefits): Plastic Ingenuity’s suppliers shall compensate employees in compliance with all laws and regulations relating to minimum wages, overtime, piece work, employee benefits, maximum hours worked per day or maximum days worked per week.
  • Child Labor is not Permitted: Suppliers shall not exploit or use children as workers. Employ no workers under the age of 15 or, in those countries subject to the developing country exception of the ILO Convention 138, employ no workers under the age of 14. Employ no workers under the age of 18 for hazardous work according to ILO Convention 182.
  • Workplace Safety and Health: Suppliers shall keep the work environment free from recognized hazards and assure compliance with all applicable laws regarding working conditions, including worker health and safety, sanitation, fire safety, risk protection and electrical, mechanical, and structural safety.
  • Working hours: Suppliers must ensure that its employees work in compliance with all applicable laws and mandatory industry standards pertaining to the number of hours and days worked.

Anti-bribery and corruption

  • Suppliers must not offer, give, request, or accept payments that contradicts or violates ethical standards such as bribery, kickbacks collusive bidding, fixed pricing, or other unfair trade practices.

Environment

  • Suppliers must manage its operations in an environmentally responsible manner and ensure compliance with related laws and regulations applicable in the country where products or services are manufactured or delivered.

Integrity

  • Compliance with Laws is Required: Suppliers shall operate business in full compliance with all applicable laws, codes, rules and regulations of the countries, provinces, states, regions, and municipalities in which they operate. Suppliers shall use materials derived from operations that are in compliance with the environmental and social laws and regulations of the country of origin.
  • Discrimination is not Permitted: Suppliers shall not discriminate based on race, color, religion, gender, social and ethnic origin, age, marital status, pregnancy, disability, sexual orientation, or any other basis prohibited by law.
  • Harassment is not Permitted: Suppliers shall ensure a work environment that is free from any form of harassment, including verbal, physical, or sexual harassment. Threats or acts of retaliation or physical punishment against their employees will not be tolerated. At all times, their employees shall be treated with respect and dignity.

Sourcing and materials

  • Land of origin: Suppliers shall use materials derived from operations that are in compliance with the environmental and social laws and regulations of the country of origin.
  • Waste management: Suppliers shall make practical efforts to eliminate or reduce waste and reuse and recycle waste materials wherever possible. The handling, storage, movement, treatment, and disposal of all waste must be carried out in accordance with applicable regulations and in an environmentally responsible manner.

Non-Compliance

  • Plastic Ingenuity reserves the right to verify the Supplier’s compliance through audits or other means. If the supplier is found to be non-compliant with the code of conduct, Plastic Ingenuity reserves the right to request corrective action and/or termination of its business relationship including related agreements/contracts.
